Super Melatonin - Help Your Sleeping

Melatonin is credited with many things, not least having the ability to reset your circadian rhythm or body clock. Other claims for melatonin is that it can slow aging, it's an antioxidant and even that it can improve your sex life! These things may or may not be true but be careful. Although melatonin is relatively safe, no-one knows what the optimal dose is.
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive, give it a miss! If your just trying to improve sleep, it works for some (particularly the elderly) and not for others. Melatonin is not freely available in all countries; in some you may need a prescription, in others it is not able to be legally sold.

By Peter Salazar

Melatonin is a hormone produced in the body and performs many functions though some of them are not well understood. However the important function that it performs is that of natural regulation of sleep during the night hours. Melatonin products and supplements are especially beneficial for those people who have sleep disorders. Melatonin is produced in a pea sized gland called the pineal gland nestled between the two hemispheres of the brain. Popular beliefs about melatonin are that it increases sexual activity.

Although Melatonin is believed to perform wonders on people with sleep disorders but it has been observed that although it is successful with people having primary sleep disorders but it does not work with people having secondary sleep problems. Melatonin sets up the clock of the body and sets it up according to the human functions performed daily and it does help in the growth of the reproductory system as well.

The melatonin supplements available in the market are synthetic versions of the original one produced by the human body. Melatonin is sold as a dietary supplement in the U.S.A but in France and other countries it is sold as a prescription drug.
